The Ford New Holland TW35 was introduced in 1983 as part of the TW series, building upon Ford's reputation for dependable agricultural tractors. Production continued until 1989. It featured a Ford 401 cubic inch (6.6L) inline six-cylinder diesel engine rated at approximately 172 horsepower. The engine delivered substantial torque, making it well-suited for heavy tillage and pulling implements. The standard transmission was a 16-speed forward and 8-speed reverse dual power transmission, providing a wide range of gear ratios for optimal performance in various field conditions.
