John Deere 4000 Tractor Parts

The John Deere 4000 was introduced in 1969 as part of the New Generation tractor lineup, replacing older models and offering improved performance and operator comfort. Production continued through 1972. The heart of the 4000 is a John Deere 3.9L (239 ci) 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing around 59 engine horsepower. These models also came with the option of gasoline engines. This was paired with either an 8-speed Syncro Range transmission offering synchronized shifting for ease of use, or the optional Powr-Shift transmission. The PTO delivered approximately 53 horsepower at 540 RPM, enabling efficient operation of implements. Hydraulic capacity was sufficient for operating loaders and other hydraulic equipment, with typically around 16 GPM flow rate. The tractor featured a Category II 3-point hitch, allowing for the use of a wide variety of implements. The John Deere 4000 was commonly used for row crop work, hay production, livestock feeding, and light tillage operations.
