The John Deere 1530 was introduced in 1973 as a part of John Deere's lineup of utility tractors, filling a need for a versatile machine capable of handling diverse farm tasks. Production continued through 1975. The 1530 was equipped with a Yanmar 3T90 diesel engine, producing approximately 52 engine horsepower with a displacement of 101.3 cubic inches (1.7 L). This engine was known for its fuel efficiency and durability. Transmission options included a standard 8-speed gear transmission. The independent PTO delivered approximately 45 horsepower at 540 RPM. Hydraulic capacity was around 7 GPM, powering the two remote hydraulics. It featured a Category I 3-point hitch.
